A Step By Step Visual Guide - Drive Sprockets

This guide can be used for both replacing worn or broken sprockets with another plastic set and upgrading to a set of metal heavy duty sprockets.

If you are upgrading to metal heavy duty gearboxes, we recommend that you also upgrade the plastic sprockets to metal sprockets at the same time. Upgrade to metal heavy duty gearboxes and metal sprockets is recommended if you intend to run metal tracks on your tank.

1. Use a sharp tool to gently remove the sprocket cap.

2. Use screw driver to unscrew sprocket from drive shaft.

Hints: Use screw driver with magnetic head if available.

3. gently remove sprocket from drive shaft. Repeat for other side.

4. Some newer models require an Allen key instead of a cross-head screw driver..

Repeat steps 1 to 4 in reverse when fitting replacement sprockets.

It is a good idea to upgrade to metal gearboxes and metal sprockets at the same time to save effort.
